Recently, the custom‑built special roller‑type descaling machine engineered by our company has successfully completed full installation, commissioning and performance testing. All technical parameters meet delivery specifications. Finishing work is now completed, and the unit will soon be packed and shipped to join the customer’s heavy forging production line.
This custom‑designed equipment is developed specifically for scale removal of large‑diameter, long‑size hot‑forging billets. The customer specializes in heavy forging part manufacturing and handles extra‑large‑size billets. Conventional descaling machines are limited by nozzle coverage and conveyor structure. They fail to process over‑length and over‑size billets, bringing practical pain points such as incomplete scale removal, workpiece jamming and poor compatibility. Based on the customer’s plant layout and billet processing requirements, our technical team developed a dedicated roller‑type descaling solution to effectively tackle technical challenges in heavy forging descaling operations.
Integrating high‑pressure water jet technology and an intelligent roller conveying system, this machine offers greatly improved compatibility and performance compared with standard descaling equipment. During operation, multiple precision rollers support and guide billets for steady feeding, preventing offset and jamming of extra‑long workpieces. Multi‑angle high‑pressure nozzles provide full‑surface coverage to strip off oxide scale thoroughly without blind spots. Furthermore, roller gap, height and conveying speed can be flexibly adjusted to accommodate various large‑diameter long billet sizes and perfectly match the production rhythm of the customer’s line.
During assembly and commissioning, our technical team strictly controlled every technical detail. Levelness, coaxiality and drive synchronization of the roller conveying system were precisely calibrated to guarantee smooth workpiece transportation. After assembling high‑pressure water pipelines and nozzle assemblies, repeated pressure tuning and angle optimization ensured stable jet pressure and uniform coverage. Multiple simulation running tests were carried out using billets identical to the customer’s actual production material to verify descaling performance across different workpiece dimensions.
Test results demonstrate stable equipment operation. Oxide scale is completely removed without residues. Treated billets show uniform metallic luster with intact base material free of damage. All performance indicators satisfy design and production requirements, and the machine has successfully passed acceptance inspection.
The equipment is now under professional packing. For long‑distance transit, main unit and auxiliary components are well‑protected, and critical interfaces are fitted with protective fittings to avoid transit‑caused damage. Delivery of this custom unit further expands our product portfolio of special descaling equipment for heavy forgings. It proves our technical strength in custom‑tailored solutions that solve real‑world production bottlenecks. Going forward, we will keep delivering high‑efficiency, accurate and highly‑adaptable intelligent descaling equipment and solutions for the forging industry worldwide.
